My name is John Swallow and I am a Director of and Principal Consultant
in the company. I am a Chartered Engineer by profession (for 30 years
now) but my past experience has put me in positions of Senior Responsibility
in General Management, Finance, Sales and Marketing, I.T and Human
Resources. During that time I have come to know well a number of
Consultants who are specialists in these and a number of other fields.
We work together to help you.
We specialise in Consultancy for Small
to Medium Sized Businesses (SMEs) in the United Kingdom . During
the period 2000 to 2002, I was a Contract Consultant and Project
Manager for the Small Business Service and visited 33 of the
then Chief Executives of the 45 Business Links in England as part
of my work to find and share “Best Practice”,
as available from them in various forms throughout the country.
I also established and Chaired on behalf of the SBS the Committee
for Joint Development of Web-based Business Information Services
offered in England , Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland .
Along with a number of my colleagues I am a Small Business Service
Registered Consultant (Registration Number SBS4386) and I am also
Accredited by SFEDI (the Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative)
to advise SMEs. Both the SBS and SFEDI are Agencies of the Dti. Our
particular specialism is Business Performance Analysis and Benchmarking.
The reason for benchmarking any business is that it is very important
for a business to know how it compares to others in the same industry.
Otherwise, how could they find out what the 10 most important things
are for them to improve their performance? We can help you find out.
We know for certain that until someone, like a Consultant, fully
understands what your 10 priorities are; and that’s what makes
your business unique, they can’t properly advise you. And because
your business is unique, the Top 10 priorities are never the same.

We only use people who currently run, or have run, their own
business but have also had experience of working in Blue Chip
organisations. They must also be recognised as having suitable
qualifications and accreditations to offer advice in the current
advisory frameworks.
Most of the Consultants have been known to the founders for more
than 10 years, with some as long as 30 years! We do not work with
anyone who isn’t known to us. They all have a reputation for
delivering excellent advice.

Currently, we are working on the following projects:-
- Technology Transfer - whereby previously “secret” products
and processes are made available to SMEs at heavily subsidised
prices to help them achieve a competitive edge in the World Marketplace
- University of Salford - on a fun styled Web-site designed
to help Start-up and Small businesses understand how they compare
with other businesses.
- A National Training Organisation – to
design and deliver a new range of products aimed at basic skills
for the employees of large organisations.
